What is your general belief about who or what is most responsible for causing the conflict?

I believe that Theodore Roosevelt was afraid for the safety of america so he acted rashly and interned all who had a japanese background. I also believe that if Hitler was never born World War II would never have happened. If WWII never happened, the japanese would never have bombed us.

What is the relevant background information (i.e. who, what, when, where)?

America put the japanese in camps because they thought that the japanese were passing information to japan; but the 9 people caught spying on America for japan were all caucasian. Over 110,000 japanese americans alone were forced into internment camps. Sometimes families were broken up and put into different camps.

What were 3 factors that helped cause the conflict (politics, economics, geography, history)?

I think that since America was already a racist country, we treated the Japenese very unfairly no matter who they were. I also believe that America had a case of xenophobia (fear or dislike of forgeiners). Because America was racsist, we over reacted and immedeatly hated anyone with a japanese background. I know that America was rascist because of "Yellow Peril" (a time when America was rascist against the chinese peoples). Another factor I belive helped with America interning the japanese in America is an economic one. The japanese american citizens were getting to have better jobs. They went from farm laborers, to owners of small buisnesses and farms. The Caucasian Americans felt threatened and tried to put the japanese americans back into their "place". The final obvious factor would be fear. As i have already said, the Americans were afraid that the japanese were spying on America.

Explain why one factor is more important than the others.

I believe that fear was the most important factor. If America wasn't afraid of the japanese, we would never have interned the japanese americans. We would'nt have been so rascist to drive them to dislike us. Also, if we weren't afraid, we wouldn't have cared much for the japanese americans rising to more successful jobs or " economic changes".

How could the conflict have been avoided?

I believe that if the japanese didn't bomb us, the japanese internment would have never happened. Also if America did't already have a pre-war discrimination against asians, we may not have interned the japanese americans.
